To monitor and report on Department of Energy activities at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington State.

To convene a national, bipartisan commission of senior leaders outside government to reassess and develop consensual recommendations about the most urgent nuclear threats to the security of the United States.

To promote nuclear nonproliferation by assisting countries in the former Soviet Union to develop national systems of export controls.

To promote nuclear disarmament through research, analysis and advocacy.

To halt the spread and reverse the growth of nuclear weapons.

To conduct research and policy analysis on nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament in Europe.
